About Us

Carty Rod & Gun Club was started in 1979.

It was a club of "like minded sportsmen" that organized to enjoy the economic benefit of wholesale pricing afforded to Sporting Goods dealers.

Through the years our members enjoyed these benefits.

In 2010 we changed our business structure to allow sales to the general public.

With this change we also dropped the "Club" from our name.

We now invite you to join us in enjoying the economic benefit provided by our low price offerings. We look forward to enjoying another 31 years!

We get asked all the time "what does the Carty in your name stand for"? Our name is taken from the Carty Reservoir.

Carty Reservoir is located 12 miles south of the town of Boardman in Morrow County, Oregon. It is used for Power Plant cooling and agricultural irrigation. Construction was completed in 1976. At normal levels it has a surface area of 2.3 square miles. It is owned by Portland General Electric. The early employees of the Boardman Coal Plant named their newly formed club after this reservoir.
